Genius Hour is the opportunity for students, for one hour each week, to study a topic of their choice (project based learning at it's finest). This session will show step by step strategies to help students find topics, record progress, find sources, and finally, share their project with the world. 7th graders at Harmony Middle School produced the following Genius Hour projects: created a soccer ball, learned Welsh, conducted a study on beauty, led an anti-bullying campaign, documented their genealogy, and convinced the principal to provide healthier lunches and much more!. With a grant that provided 25 Chromebooks, students were able to research, create, and share their projects with the world. One student said,'Even though this hasn’t been the easiest project, it was the most fun.' By far, the most engaging instructional process in a 30+ year career!
